Important things to know before your visit
– Pets Policy: Provided they are on a leash, dogs are very welcome at all our locations and tour boats. Only the catering facilities in the Visitors’ Centre and at the Blokweer Museum Mill are prohibited for dogs. This provision does not apply to a (blind) guide dog accompanying a visitor with an identification pass.
– Locker: Kinderdijk World Heritage has three different sized lockers for visitors to store luggage during a visit. Prices range from 6 to 10 euros.
– Accessibility: The Wisboom pumping station, the Visitor Centre and the Overwaard Museum Mill have a disabled toilet.Wheelchair accessible are also: the cinema, the walking paths, the tour boat and the mill yards. The other mills cannot be visited from the inside with a wheelchair, because of the narrow access and steep stairs.
– Kinderdijk World Heritage has two wheelchairs that can be borrowed free of charge on the day of your visit. These wheelchairs cannot be reserved in advance. Please ask at the reception in the Visitors Centre.
– Show your smartphone ticket to the staff directly at the visiting locations
– Start your visit in the auxiliary pumping station De Fabriek and watch the film there first
– Visitors to the World Heritage can park their car at the Marineweg in Alblasserdam on chargeable basis
– Shuttle buses run daily between 9:00 and 18:00 to and from the entrance of the windmill area
